Dual technology

Two technologies,
one technical partner

RZF's major advantage is offering both proven platforms and selecting the right one for each job, rather than by habit. The coating system is chosen by component geometry, corrosion requirement, coating thickness, friction requirement, appearance, OEM specification, production volume and application method.

Inside the coating

What 8 microns really contains

Millions of microscopic zinc and aluminium platelets, shingled in overlapping courses and sealed under a functional topcoat. Corrosion has to fight its way around every single flake before it ever reaches the steel.

Why RZF

Global chemistry.
Local manufacturing excellence.

Globally developed zinc flake chemistry, applied with controlled Indian manufacturing and inspection processes: the technology comes from Korea and Germany, the discipline and the accountability sit in Rohtak.

Technology

Zincotec® GEOPERT® 500 water-based chemistry and MKS' Atotech Zintek® solvent-based technology, applied under licence-grade process discipline.

Process

Dip spin and automatic controlled application with controlled curing, so film thickness lands where the specification says it should.

Quality

Coating thickness control, salt spray testing, XRF inspection, torque and functional testing, and batch traceability on every lot.

Applications

Automotive, fasteners, commercial vehicles, tractors, chassis, brackets, washers, springs and engineering components.

Our value proposition

The right chemistry. The right process.
The right performance.

We don't simply apply a coating. We select and control the complete coating system based on your functional requirement, and every step between your drawing and the approved component is owned by one team.

Step 01Customer requirement — the part, the substrate and the figure it has to hit
Step 02Material & component analysis
Step 03Coating system selection — water-based or solvent-based, basecoat plus topcoat
Step 04Process validation
Step 05Production
Step 06Testing — thickness, appearance, salt spray, torque

Why specifiers pick it

Six reasons the drawing says zinc flake, and says it gets done here: the chemistry is proven, the route is embrittlement-free, and the plant has the capacity to hold a schedule.

Questions engineers ask

Zinc flake, answered straight

The six questions every purchase department and design engineer asks before their first batch, answered the way we answer them on the phone.

What is zinc flake coating?

A non-electrolytic thin-film corrosion protection: microscopic zinc and aluminium platelets are applied in overlapping layers, typically 6 to 8 microns thick, then cured. The zinc protects the steel sacrificially, in bright silver or deep black finishes.

How many hours of salt spray resistance does zinc flake coating give?

Published data for the systems we apply: GEOPERT® 500 achieves 1,500+ hours to red rust at 6 to 8 microns (ASTM B117), Zintek® 200 achieves 1,000+ hours neutral salt spray with two layers, and Zintek® ONE HP up to 720 hours from a single coat — always subject to the process and test conditions.

Why use zinc flake instead of electroplating for high-tensile fasteners?

Because the coating is applied without electrolysis, no hydrogen is generated in the coating process, which removes the hydrogen embrittlement risk that plating brings to class 10.9 and 12.9 fasteners. Final suitability is always evaluated against the full specification, substrate and heat treatment.

Should I choose the water-based or the solvent-based system?

That depends on the component geometry, the corrosion target, friction and appearance requirements and the OEM specification. RZF runs both — water-based GEOPERT® by Zincotec® Korea and solvent-based Zintek® by MKS' Atotech — and selects the right system for the part.

Do you take third-party job work?

Yes. The plant at HSIIDC, Rohtak coats up to 120 tonnes a month across a dip-spin line and an automatic line, and third-party job work is welcome. Send the part, substrate and salt spray target and we respond with a route and a price.

What finishes and functional properties are available?

Bright silver and deep black basecoats, plus functional topcoats that add controlled coefficient of friction, consistent torque-tension behaviour, chemical resistance and UV stability.
