GEOPERT® 500
by Zincotec® Korea

High corrosion resistance. Low VOC. Water-soluble technology. Developed for high-performance corrosion protection on screws, bolts, washers and complex components.

Published performance

1,500+ hours without red rust

Published GEOPERT® 500 information specifies high corrosion resistance in salt-spray testing, subject to the applicable process and test conditions.

Salt spray1,500+ hrsWithout red-rust formation at the specified coating thickness and process conditions
Coating thickness6–8 μmTypical thin-film build, with excellent coverage on fasteners and complex geometry
Curing320–330°CAround 20 minutes per bake, two coating cycles × two baking cycles
Key technology features

Water-soluble. Chromium-free.
No electroplating.

Unlike conventional oil-based zinc flake systems, GEOPERT® is a water-soluble coating technology designed with low VOC characteristics — an attractive option for manufacturers looking to reduce solvent-related process concerns.

  • Water-soluble zinc/aluminium composite coating
  • Bright silver appearance
  • Low viscosity, low VOC characteristics
  • Chromium-free formulation
  • No electroplating process
  • Hydrogen-embrittlement-free coating route
  • Thin-film corrosion protection
  • Excellent coverage on complex components
  • Suitable for dip-spin application
  • Suitable for automotive and industrial components

Low viscosity

Less build-up, more uniformity

GEOPERT® 500 is designed with relatively low viscosity, which helps reduce liquid build-up and improves coating uniformity on complex geometries. Suited to:

High-tensile fasteners

The route for 10.9 and 12.9

Because the coating is applied through a non-electrolytic process, zinc flake is particularly attractive for critical high-strength fasteners where hydrogen embrittlement control matters. Final suitability is always evaluated against your specification, substrate and heat treatment. More on hydrogen embrittlement control →
